Disclosure of Funding Policy

Policy Overview

This policy applies to all journals published by Ukwuru Science unless otherwise specified.

All authors submitting to Ukwuru Science are required to disclose the support they received to conduct their research. Declaring funding sources not only acknowledges the contributions of funders but also fulfills funding requirements and enhances transparency in the research process.

We endorse GPP2 Good Publication Practice for Communicating Company Sponsored Medical Research.

What to Declare

Each author must individually declare all sources of funding received for the research submitted to the journal. This declaration should include the names of granting agencies, grant numbers, and a description of each funder’s role. If a funder had no involvement in the research, this should also be explicitly stated.

Authors are not obliged to provide a complete list of every grant that supports them, provided the grant is unrelated to the published research.

Funding Statement

A Funding Statement will be included in the metadata of each published article, detailing the funding information declared by the authors.

If inaccurate funding information is identified after publication, a correction may be necessary.

How to Declare

Funding information must be entered in the online submission system. Please refer to the submission guidelines for further details.

Funding from Tobacco Companies

Ukwuru Science will not consider for publication any manuscripts where research costs or authors' salaries have been funded, in whole or in part, by a tobacco company.
